Euromoney, one of the most prestigious international publications in finance, held its Awards for Excellence ceremony in London, where winners were announced.
In the event, which saw more than 700 applications from over one hundred countries independently evaluated under categories such as strategy, financial performance, innovation, and customer experience, İş Bankası was named both the best digital bank in Central and Eastern Europe and the best digital bank in Turkey. The bank’s digital transformation strategy, its investments in artificial intelligence and data-driven technologies, and its innovative applications aimed at delivering a seamless customer experience were key factors behind its wins in the digital banking category.
Commenting on the awards, İş Bankası Deputy General Manager Sabri Gökmenler said, “These awards are a gratifying, concrete indication that the work we’ve been carrying out under our vision of becoming the ‘Bank of the Future’ is paying off.” Noting that the bank aims to put technology at the center of its efforts to make customers’ lives easier and expand their access to financial services, Gökmenler said the bank continues to develop İşCep in line with its super-app strategy.
Pointing out that İşCep, which reached 16 million customers in 2026, now offers a total of 857 functions, Gökmenler continued:
“To make İşCep easier to use, we redesigned the app experience with the help of AI-powered analytics and created dedicated panels for areas such as transactions, cards, investments, and personal finance management. This structure allows our customers to easily access all the services they need from a single place. Around 97 percent of our banking transactions now take place through digital channels. With our ‘Your İşCep’ approach, we offer a personalized digital experience, and with our AI-powered assistant Maxi, we’re there for our customers whenever they need us. Having surpassed 108 million interactions to date, Maxi makes banking faster, easier, and more accessible while also making a significant contribution to operational efficiency. Under our Hayatım [My Life] domain, we offer lifestyle-focused services such as Arabam [My Car], Evim [My Home], Ailem [My Family], and Seyahatim [My Travel] through mini-app partnerships. In addition, within İşCep we provide end-to-end solutions ranging from personal finance management to savings and investment transactions and loyalty programs.”
Touching on future plans, Sabri Gökmenler added, “We will continue investing in artificial intelligence, data analytics, and next-generation technologies, and keep offering our customers a smarter, easier, and more personalized banking experience.”
